NCAE webinars and workshops are led by NBCTs who have been trained to work with candidates as candidate support providers!
For all webinars – it is important to note that upon registration, participants will receive an immediate confirmation with the details needed to log into the webinar. A follow up e-mail will be sent no later than 48 hours prior to the webinar. All communication will be via e-mail – it is important that you verify the e-mail address with which you register.
All webinars require computer/internet access, as well as telephone access.
Webinars with multiple dates will include the same information each date. We do our best to archive webinars. Webinars must have a minimum of 10 participants to be held.

Take time to better understand the standards upon which your Certificate is based. During this webinar, participants will:
• Examine standards and how to integrate them into classroom experiences
• Discuss how to unpack your individual standards and weave standards language into your reflections

• Learn how to discern between accomplishments that impact student learning and those that do not

During this webinar, participants will learn how to appropriately utilize the student work samples and other data required for different portfolio entries. Participants will discuss how to critique work samples, and how to write about those work samples in the portfolio.

Critiquing and Writing About Videos – Webinar
Work with National Board Certified Teachers and sample video clips to learn how to more effectively examine your videos for evidence within the portfolio! Participants will review sample video clips and be given tools which can be used on individual videos.

National Board Certification was designed by NBPTS as a three year process – it was North Carolina that made it a one year event! So, if you haven’t yet certified – continue your journey! These one-day workshops will provide an opportunity for renewal candidates to work with other candidates and renewed NBCTs to get moving in the right direction on the renewal process. Candidates will break out into groups based on their level of process in candidacy.

Fall Drive in Clinics – Initial Candidates
These daylong workshops will get you moving forward in your candidacy with tips on your content area standards, reflective writing, and writing about student work samples and data. This is a great opportunity to begin networking with other candidates!

January JumpStart - Advanced Candidates Workshop
This daylong workshop is geared towards Advanced Candidates with regards to how to proceed with your candidacy, the ins and outs of determining what assessment exercises to retake, and what support is out there for you.
Saturday, January 21 – 9am – 4pm – NCAE Center, Raleigh
Winter Boot Camp – All Candidates!
This two and a half day support session for ALL Candidates is being held in Raleigh on February 9-11, 2012! We will begin on Thursday, February 9, with dinner at the NCAE Center. Candidates will be provided an opportunity to work, and will have NBCTs with a wide swath of expertise available to bounce ideas and critique products. Participants will be able to group by certificate area, or get some one on one time with NBCTs. There will also be content sessions on reflective writing, writing and interpreting, videotaping, documented accomplishments, one on one appointments, and small group work sessions.

April Assessment Center Workshops
The NBC Assessment Center Workshops provide candidates with the opportunity to work with NBCTs, gather tips for the Assessment Center, and have the chance to practice prompts and review them during the workshop.
