Educators of Color (EOC) Academy

NCAE is currently accepting applications for our new Educators of Color (EOC) Academy. We will be accepting applications effective April 26 – May 24, 2019. The 1st cohort will host 25 NCAE members and come from a variety of districts and regions. This academy will focus on the recruitment and retention of educators of color while providing them with sound instructional practices, build their leadership capacity, and assist them in establishing educator resilience.

The cohort will meet quarterly to experience trainings and speakers on a variety of topics in education. They will receive train the trainer sessions around trauma, poverty, and resiliency to present to their local region and districts. They will conduct a problem of practice their first year to benefit the students in a local school. This academy model will provide a variety of beneficial information and support as they work to increase student achievement, learning, social-emotional skills in their daily role.
