Personal Statement
My journey in public education began in the very community that raised me, and it has shaped my commitment to advocate for every educator and every child in North Carolina. As a proud Vance County native, classroom teacher, and now assistant principal, I have seen firsthand the power of strong educator voices and the impact we make when we stand together. Serving as President of the Vance County Association of Educators has strengthened my belief that advocacy is not just a responsibility—it’s a calling. I am seeking a seat on the NCAE Board so I can continue fighting for the resources, respect, and support our educators deserve, and to help ensure that all students—no matter their zip code—have the opportunity to succeed.
