Advocating for Change

All across North Carolina, we are with you. We are right there next to you fighting for our students. Fighting for our future.
We need to dismantle unjust systems. We need to fully fund public schools. We need to hold our elected leaders accountable to our communities. And we need your help to make it happen.
Ready to help us improve classroom conditions, secure school funding, and advance social and racial justice for all? Here’s how you can get involved.

Our Strategic Plan

After a months-long and in-depth planning process, NCAE’s new strategic plan was formally adopted by the Board of Directors and by members during the 2023 NCAE Convention in March. Learn more about the plan that puts us on a path to achieve our vision of 20,000 dollars per student funding and 30,000 members by 2030 and it represents a critical step forward for our organization.

Lobbying Resources

At the heart of the Association's lobbying strategy is the grassroots involvement of members in every corner of the state. Although NCAE's lobbyists play a key role during the session, legislators want—and need—to hear how their actions will impact children and education back home.

Support the NCAE PAC & NEA Fund

Our political engagement work is fueled by educators coming together to elect pro-public education candidates and hold them accountable to ensure North Carolina has great public schools.

Private School Vouchers

NCAE believes that every child in North Carolina, no matter their race, income, or zip code, should have a high-quality education, an excellent teacher, and a great local school. However, private school vouchers stand in the way of that goal.

2023-24 Legislative Agenda

NCAE is North Carolina leading voice for children, families, and the public schools they count on. Through our advocacy on behalf of children and the development of excellent education professionals, NCAE is leading a movement to build excellent public schools, and our focus for the 2023-24 Legislative Session is on our students.
