- William Chavis Raynard Miller Jr. was fatally wounded Wednesday in a shooting at a high school in the North Carolina city of Winston-Salem.
- The shooting happened at Mount Tabor High School on the city's northwest side.
- The suspect, who authorities think is a fellow student, was taken into custody without incident

"Our hearts are broken today by the senseless and tragic shooting at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem. We stand together during these difficult moments, sending love and healing thoughts to the victim's family, our fellow educators and school employees who without a doubt did everything possible to protect their students, and the entire community that has been wounded today.
We all owe it to our students and our educators to make our schools and communities safe and welcome spaces, and we will continue to do everything we can to make that happen."
