Deadlines approaching for scholarships & art contest

The Mary Morrow- Edna Richards Scholarships, the Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Scholarship, and the NCAE Human and Civil Rights Arts Contest are great opportunities for students. Deadlines to are coming within the next two weeks.

Public education is a holistic experience that supports students both inside and outside the school building. We are excited to share several opportunities available for the students we support every day.

Below are current opportunities offered by NCAE with approaching deadlines:
 



Mary Morrow- Edna Richards Scholarships - Deadline Jan. 30 

For future educators who are either high school seniors or college juniors enrolled in teacher education programs.The Mary Morrow- Edna Richards Scholarships, sponsored by NCAE’s foundation, the NC Foundation for Public School Children (NCFPSC), these awards honor two trailblazing education leaders: Mary Frank Morrow, the first president of the North Carolina Classroom Teachers Association, and Edna Cotton Richards, a distinguished leader in the North Carolina Teachers Association and NCAE.

Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Scholarship  - Deadline Feb. 2 

For high school seniors who plan to continue their education. Scholarship funds are used during the recipient’s freshman year of college. Awarded by NCAE and NCFPSC. For more information, click here.

NCAE Human and Civil Rights Arts Contest - Deadline Feb. 2 

Sponsored by the NCAE Human and Civil Rights Commission, the contest amplifies student voices, reflects diverse lived experiences, and sparks dialogue around human and civil rights issues affecting our communities. Through art, students are encouraged to promote awareness, empathy, and collective action toward a more just and inclusive society. This year’s theme is Dream It, Fund It, Share It, Justice for ALL!
