I am a Child Nutrition Services worker and manager at Panther Creek HS in Wake County. I have been leading the CNS organizing committee by attending meetings, taking a release day to recruit my coworkers to the union, and co-facilitating meetings with district leadership. I have been a Wake NCAE Director and Summer Member Organizer. I live by the mantra, “Alone you will go faster but other we will go further.” I believe if the Association follows the path, we will win.

I’ve worked closely with the Board of Directors to establish many concepts to grow our division of ESPs and attended the 2023 ESP Conference in Seattle, WA. As a Board member, I plan to continue to advocate for our local ESPs and continue to support our locals as a Director in implementing strategies for ALL 9 categories that make up our division for lifelong success as a growing educator.

After serving in the US Army, I graduated from East Carolina University with a Bachelor’s Degree in School Health Education, Master’s in Middle Grades Science from Walden University, a second Master’s Degree in School Administration from High Point University, and an Educational Specialist Degree from Walden University.

Coming from a family of educators, I knew I was meant to serve the public, especially students. I firmly believe that ALL children deserve to feel safe and learn and grow in our public schools. My life’s work is to consistently strive to make that a reality for the students of North Carolina. In order for that to come to fruition, all staff must be supported and given the opportunity to grow and learn. NCAE does just that for all staff. By serving in NCAE, I hope to serve the staff of the region, so that staff and students may learn and grow.

This is what I will be for the Student Service members in Region 2. I will be an advocate for Region 2 so that we can ensure our concerns are heard at the state level and the local level. I am committed to being that person who you feel has your best interests at heart and will serve as a sounding board to get your questions answered and advocate for your needs as we set goals and visions for the Student Services division of Region 2.
